What is llms.txt?
llms.txt is a proposed convention — analogous to robots.txt — that gives large language models a curated, markdown-formatted overview of your site. By listing your most important pages with their titles and descriptions, you help AI crawlers and chatbots understand and surface your content more accurately. The format is defined by the AnswerDotAI llms.txt proposal.
What goes in the file
Title + description
The H1 names the site; the quote block summarizes it in a sentence or two.
Grouped sections
Markdown headings group related pages so crawlers see your site's shape.
Markdown links
One link per page with a short gloss, in plain markdown throughout.
Why generate one?
Give AI tools a clear, curated map of your site. This is a convention some tools may read - it is not a ranking factor and we do not promise visibility from it.
